The Des Moines baseball experience is a setting so folksy by the banks of the Raccoon River, that when the colorful and late, great reliever, Rod "Bubba" Beck was working on his big league comeback, he actually chose to live the summer in a trailer behind the right field wall. That's right, to paraphrase comedian Chris Farley, he really did live, "in a trailer down by the river!"
